RESTORING ELECTION INTEGRITY

BAN BALLOT HARVESTING

Ballot harvesting must be banned. Well funded government unions currently send paid staff to collect ballots and turn them in. This practice must end to prevent others from tampering with your vote.

REQUIRE ELECTION AUDITS

I will propose an automatic audit of future elections to ensure accountability in all 36 counties and in the Secretary of State’s office.

ENSURE VOLUNTARY REGISTRATION

Currently, DMV customers are registered to vote without any action, meaning they will receive a ballot they may not want and may not keep track of. As governor, my administration will require DMV employees to simply ask each customer: “Would you like to be automatically registered to vote at this time?” If the response is “yes” then the customer may check the political affiliation box of their choice. This will lead to more accurate registration and protect against discarded ballots.

PREVENT ELECTION NIGHT FRAUD

Finally, we must require all 36 counties to release their election results at the same time. This will prevent any one county from the possibility of fraud to try to change the outcome based on what happens in other counties.

There is nothing preventing someone from filling out a ballot for someone else, except for the actual signing of the ballot. Staff at memory care facilities, for example, can easily fill out ballots of patients who could be pressured into signing the ballot. We must make it a crime of fraud to fill out a ballot for anyone other than someone with a disability. In this instance, the ballot assistant would have to be a direct relative or court appointed personal representative and be required to fill out a supplemental form to be verified in the same way we verify ballots. The assistant would also disclose the nature of their relationship to the disabled voter and be limited to helping only a small number of people each election.

PROTECT VULNERABLE VOTERS
