PRESS RELEASE: Mayor Stan Pulliam Statement on Governor Brown's Vodka Ban
SANDY, OR—Today Mayor Stan Pulliam issued the following statement regarding Governor Brown's ban on sales of vodka:
"While Governor Brown and former representative Christine Drazan have made a lot of noise about emptying store shelves of Russian vodka, a product that has already been purchased, the real issue is our reliance on Russian oil," said Mayor Stan. "We should not be punishing small business retailers with another mandate telling them what they cannot do, our leaders should be reducing the 600,000 barrels of oil we purchase every day from Russia. Our refusal to achieve energy independence is financing the war on Ukraine."
"Let's take a stand for our independence as well as Ukraine's by investing in the production and transportation of oil and gas right here in the U.S.," continued Pulliam. "I am the only candidate standing up for critical infrastructure projects like the Jordan Cove Pipeline that will help us move towards energy independence."
Stan Pulliam is the two term, nonpartisan Mayor of Sandy.
He is running for governor in the 2022 election.
