FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Governor Brown Continues to Destroy Oregon's Recovery
SANDY, OR — Despite record inflation and continued economic uncertainty, Governor Brown's administration continues to fail Oregon's job creators.
"This week saw yet more actions by Governor Brown that are stifling Oregon's recovery," said Mayor Stan Pulliam. "The Oregon Lottery announced it would no longer install Video Lottery at Oregon businesses or even receive applications. Meanwhile, Governor Brown's inaction threatens the closure of a brand new horse racing track and the firing of 156 employees at The Flying Lark."
On every front, Governor Brown refuses to do anything significant to boost Oregon's supply and hiring problems and instead has chosen to say "no" at every turn, from killing the Jordan Cove LNG project which would have boosted Southern Oregon jobs to failing to incentivize the hiring of more medical professionals to increase hospital capacity during COVID, Governor Brown chooses restrictions at every turn.
"Instead of working to improve the supply of Video Lottery machines and keeping her word to support the Flying Lark," continued Pulliam, "Governor Brown has once again given job creators and their employees absolutely zero certainty. Main Street businesses and entrepreneurs need a Governor who will work to say 'yes' at every opportunity."
Stan Pulliam is the two term, nonpartisan Mayor of Sandy.
He is running for governor in the 2022 election.
